Flat White Kidney Beans a generic term for ivory-white skinned kidney-shaped beans. Varieties include , great Northern bean, navy bean, and pea bean and haricot.

Great Northern Beans are white medium sized beans a bit larger than a navy bean most commonly used for making baked beans and ‘pork and beans’. Use this bean in recipes calling for white beans.

Green Laird Lentils are sometimes referred to as Green Large Lentils or Continental Lentils. Green Speckled Lentils are a small slate-green lentil with a delicate blue marbling – these are sometimes referred to as Puy type Lentils. Puy lentils are considered by many to be the best lentil because of their unique peppery flavour and the fact they hold their shape during cooking. They’re the only lentil to be identified by area of cultivation – grown in the Le Puy region of France.

Haricot Beans are a small, dry white bean which is smaller than many other types of white beans and has an oval, slightly flattened shape. It features in such dishes as baked beans and even pies, as well as in various soups.

Light Red Kidney Beans are named for their visual resemblance to a kidney, both in shape and colour. Red Kidney Beans are sometimes confused with other beans that are red, such as adzuki beans. Commonly used in dishes such as Chili con Carne and traditional dishes in northern regions of India and Pakistan.
